Purpose of the Trip
In March 2025, Johns Hopkins University’s MS Programs in Environmental Sciences & Policy, focusing on Energy Policy & Climate, partnered with Cross Cultural Journeys to conduct a field course in Cuba. The program aimed to immerse students in Cuba’s unique ecosystems and explore the nation's innovative approaches to sustainability and conservation.
Engaging with Cuba’s Ecosystems

Students explored both marine and terrestrial environments, participating in activities such as SCUBA diving, reef monitoring, and observing sea turtle conservation efforts at La Barca Beach. These hands-on experiences provided insights into the challenges and successes of environmental management in Cuba.
